Content DescriptionReplies to Mr Fox's letters of 7 Oct. and 16 Dec.; castigates him for his 'frivolous excuses' for not paying his Grace [1st Duke of Portland] what is owed him in rent; disbelieves his assertion that he does not know what allowance to take; confronts him with proof of what allowances have already been taken, which are far in excess of what is usual; will not accept Fox's excuse that he must wait until a suit in Chancery is completed; demands payment before the next law term, and insists that whatever needs to be settled between Fox and 'Mr Duberry' must not delay the payment of the Duke's rents.
