Content DescriptionWas concerned for Achard's health because of his long silence; has suffered in the past few days from an inflamed tooth and a bad fever; about three or four weeks ago Miss Savile [later Countess of Scarbrough] stayed with widow Thornhagh at Ollerton while the rest of them visited Mr [Patientius] Ward[e], who married one of Mr Thornhagh's sisters.

Describes Sir Rowland Winne's house, where they dined, and which is not yet completely built; many friends of Mr Thornhagh have come visiting; Sir George [Savile, 8th Baronet] has not mentioned going either to Oxford or London, and has been hunting; while seeing Mr Ward they visited one of his uncles who showed them a summer house from where 64 churches could be seen; describes the book he is reading, entitled 'Il Tempio Vaticano di Carlo Fontana'.
