Content Description	Apologizes for being the worst correspondent Achard must have; is glad to hear about his improved health after his cough; writes of the benefits of riding in the countryside, but fears that the rain will make the soil at Shireoaks worse than that at Rufford; the newlyweds [Mr and Mrs John Thornhagh] have had plenty of visitors; describes how he is amusing himself; he has measured the whole house and was told that it cost Sir Thomas Hewitt more than a million 'pieces'; the Duchess of Norfolk has organized a dance for the young people; mentions a wedding involving Mr Waller 'in your neighbourhood'; Writes that he found an old Catholic chapel now used as a grange; Sir George [Savile, 8th Baronet] has not mentioned leaving as he will hunt during the season; remarks that the King of Prussia 'is going to play his role - we will see how he will get out of it'.
