Content DescriptionIs pleased to have heard from Achard; comments on the nature of their friendship; reports that Mrs Thornhagh is about to give birth and that two of the Thornhagh sisters are at Shireoakes; Mr Thornhagh would like to let out his house in Osberton and build another at Shireoakes; Sir George [Savile, 8th Baronet] is in possession of Mr Markham's land near Rufford and is looking for a tenant for that house; has been at Rufford two days and is busy cleaning his old library; letters and news from Achard are guaranteed to lift his spirits; Thornhagh has lent him a large book on the amphitheatre of Vespasian illustrated with engravings.
