AbstractDepartmental records
Admin HistoryAcademic departments within the University College were not all established at the same time and underwent various changes throughout the years, with departments amalgamating and separating. The different departments are not equally represented in the archive with records for some departments having survived better than others. This series cannot be considered as a true archive of departmental papers as many of the sections contain only ephemeral material such as pamphlets rather than the official working papers of the department. The disparity in the survival of material reflects the fact that some departments had the foresight (or space) to retain records whilst others did not.
DescriptionSignificant series of departmental papers include:

Education Department, (UCN/T/1)
Adult Education Department, (UCN/T/3)
Textiles Department, (UCN/T/5).
