Admin History	The Department of American Studies was formed in 1979, within the Faculty of Arts. It became the Department of American and Canadian Studies in 1990. In 1998, the School of American and Canadian Studies was formed. As at 2017, the Department of American and Canadian Studies formed part of the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies within the Faculty of Arts.
