Admin History	The Department of Mechanical Engineering was part of the Faculty of Applied Science in 1948, when the University was formed. In 1981 the Faculty of Applied Science became the Faculty of Engineering. In 1998 the Department became part of the School of Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering and Management. As at 2017, the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering forms part of the Faculty of Engineering.
