The Department of Chemical Engineering was formed within the Faculty of Applied Science in 1960. In 1981 the Faculty of Applied Science became the Faculty of Engineering. In 1998 the Department became part of the School of School of Chemical, Environmental and Mining Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering.
