TitleLetter from Letter from Prudence Penelope Cavendish Bentinck, Badger Hall, Shifnal [Shropshire] to Rawdon Brown; undated [c.1860]
Datec.1860
Extent2 ff
LevelItem/file
Content DescriptionSends thanks for the clasp. Enquires about friends in Venice including the Pisani and Marcello, and provides brief social news about friends and family. Claims that they 'do not think much of Garibaldi's battle' which was 'entirely won by the help of Piedmont and I'm ashamed to say our English Gunners'.

Date: The letter is simply dated Monday. Discussion of a clasp would possibly suggest it dates from around the same period as Pw M 347 [1860], and other internal evidence probably refers to the Garibaldi uprising of 1860.
