Content DescriptionSays that he has been permitted to go 'into the country' for reasons of his health and settling his 'own affairs'; comments that Mr Secretary Hedges will deal with any matters which may arise when he is away; encloses copies [not present] of the speech of Queen Anne at the opening of Parliament and the unanimous resolution of the House of Commons passed upon it.

Draft of postscript to Mr Stanhope [later 1st Earl Stanhope] in unidentified hand, n.d. [c.4 Nov. 1704]; relays a report that a 'squadron of French ships were come into Gibraltar Bay'; says that Sir J. Leake is preparing to go and 'fall upon them'.
