Content Description
Concerns his proposals intended to improve the 'Revenue of Excise' in 1693; discusses opposition from the Lords of the Treasury to his bills and petitions which contained these proposals; discusses the opinions of Lord Godolphin and Sir Stephen Fox towards his ideas; informs Harley of a scheme by Dr Stringer and a 'Officer in the Excise' to cheat the King; says that he agreed in order to obtain evidence against them.
