Content DescriptionStates that he waited at the House of Commons to give him the enclosed letter from Mr Bateman regretting he will be forced to stand; suggests 'it be most proper to oppose him' but will defer to his opinion.

William Bateman writes that he is being compelled to stand for Lempster [Leominster] and explains 'I believe you are sensible it is for my Interest not to refuse him'; asks him to 'let Auditor Harley know'.
