Thanks him for his letter of 8 Aug. written in his own hand; continues to press for his long awaited reply, it being five weeks since their conference; expresses concern that the Tsar [Peter I] may think the delay due to his own laxness as he is always telling the Tsar that the response is imminent; refers to commercial matters mentioned in [Harley's] letter [indicating his willingness to discuss these?]; follows the Tsar's mandate in requesting a position for Mr Goodwin, observing that there are two vacancies in the diocese of Canterbury.
