Thanks providence that he is in a position to 'be where my inclination is...to serve the Common Cause'; believes that 'Common danger makes the interest of Holland to be one with ours'; reports on the arrival of the 'unfortunate news of the Conjunction of the French and Bavarians'; believes they should untie their strengths instead of quarrelling over such incidents; hopes that the Duke of Marlborough may be able to recover this 'misfortune'; requests that troops be made available to be sent into Germany to Marlborough.
