Content Description
Expresses his joy at Oxford's recovery; reports that his agency has 'been disposed of' during Oxford's illness to Simon Stopur for £1300 with no regard to Oxford's intercession or his own rights; asks if the Queen and her Council are punishing him for 'Ld Portland's faults' and fining him a 'thousand guineas towards paying Lord Ashburnham's Commission'; requests that Oxford intercede as his patron; has represented his case to the Duke of Ormond as the 'Generall and Director in chief of all military matters'.
Adds in a post script that the death of Captain Colt may be a 'happy expedient to make good any loss' if supported by Oxford's favour.
