Discusses the state of the [peace] negotiations with France and the Netherlands; says that a reoccurrence of the gout has prevented him from seeing anyone; reports that Prince Eugene is expected that night on his way to Germany where he will attempt to 'prevent mischief intended by ye French'; details the reports of Eugene's military manoeuvres and his agreement with the Elector of Bavaria; does not know whether these reports be true or a 'pretence onely to Deceive the Enemy'; discusses various interviews and refers to the participants and places by code numbers.
