Content DescriptionStates that Denison's period as Speaker is about to expire; informs him that Walpole has refused to be nominated for speakership in new House of Commons; hopes Denison will be proposed for Liberals against any Government candidate; believes Prime Minister [Disraeli] will accept Liberal nomination [of Denison] unopposed despite lack of precedent; hopes Denison's nephew [Edward] continues to prosper; states that he cannot take his part against Philip Handley but would gladly see him in Parliament.

Post-script refers to funeral of [H. Leveson-Gower, Duchess of Sutherland] at Trentham [Hall].
