Offers Denison Presidency of Nottingham branch of Society for the Propagation of the Gospel; comments that they have halted recent decline of Society; informs him that Bishop of Lincoln [Jackson] is vice-president of Board and Rev. F. Morse is chairman; states that Bishops of Lincoln [Jackson] and Oxford [Wilberforce] will plead S.P.G. cause at Nottingham meeting.
Autograph reply by J.E. Denison on f 2v dated 18 Aug. 1864 declines offer of Presidency.
