Content DescriptionInforms him that Lord Sefton is unwilling to write to Liverpool builders Mr Stewart or Mr Foster as he believes they will not be influenced and will support Mr Ewart [in election]; informs him that Mr Rushton has visited concerning election subscription; would be impolitic for him to collect for own brother-in-law; states that he cannot expect financial support from Whigs; Labouchere has undertaken to see friends about finances including Lord Stanley; comments that election will be expensive but in future elections he could expect support of Liverpool merchants; believes the days of Wellington Government to be numbered; comments on Brougham's Reform motion; refers to Wellington's anti-reform speech in session; believes Lord Grey and Palmerston's friends will succeed to ministry.
