Content DescriptionEncloses a paper indicating those who have held the stewardship of Bromfield and Yale since the reign of Edward VI; says that Lord Westminster [2nd Marquess] owns the minerals under the 'whole extent of this lordship, the waste above belonging to the Crown'; comments that the Crown and Lord Westminster have an 'identity of interest' in preventing any further encroachments on this land; says Lord Westminster has promised to resist such encroachments should he be made steward; discusses the claim of Sir Watkin Wynn to the stewardship; doubts the validity of the appointment of Lord Westminster [1st Marquess] by Lord Duncannon; asks Peel to whom he wishes the appointment to be granted; suggests that if he chooses Lord Westminster he deal with the situation himself, as head of the government.
