Content Description | Vouchers for payment of income tax, land tax and rents on the Duke of Newcastle's account at Nottingham; including payment of fee-farm rent to the Crown for Nottingham Castle and lands in Nottingham and Trowell, and payment of chief rent to the Duke of Leeds for a tenement in the town.
Income tax for: Nottingham Middle Ward, North Ward West [Thurland Hall, Pelham Street and Cow Lane], Nottingham Castle Wharf, Nottingham Castle, Nottingham Park and meadows.
Land tax for: North Ward West [Thurland Hall, Pelham Street and Cow Lane], Standard Hill and Nottingham Castle.
Costs for repairs to various buildings in the town, including houses and stables in Cow Lane and Pelham Street, repairs to Nottingham Castle, the park, lodge and bowling green, as well as extensive alterations to Thurland Hall.
Also labour costs for repairing the banks of the River Leen [Ne A 420/38].
Salaries for Joseph Hemshall for killing moles and David Dams for superintending stock in Nottingham Park.
