Content DescriptionInventory and valuation made for the purpose of insurance; lists items on a room-by-room basis, as follows: hall; cocktail bar off the hall; television lounge; billiard room; library; dining room; drawing room; green room; cloak room; back hall; kitchen; bedroom 1; bedroom 2; bedroom 3; bedroom 4; dressing room; bedroom 5; bedroom 6; linen room; laundry room; bedroom 7; bedroom 8; flat 3 with 2 bedrooms and sitting room; and the terrace by the swimming pool; also lists glass, china, linen and bedding, silver and plated items; provides a brief description of each item, together with a statement of its value.

Volume also contains copies of other inventories and valuations of family property, marked 'B'-'N'; 'B' is a schedule of pictures, miniatures, prints and engravings at Shockerwick House, owned by the Trustees of the 7th Duke of Newcastle; 'N' is a schedule of trust jewellery; 'C'-'M' are further copies of Ne 6 I 1/26/3-13; see those entries for details.

The front of the volume contains a summary of the various inventories, dated March 1966, indicating that the total value of all the personal effects; the 9th Duke of Newcastle under Lyne has signed this, acknowledging receipt of the chattels from the Trustees of the will of the 7th Duke.

The front of the volume also contains an additional valuation of a mid-18th century mahogany desk, dated 20 Nov. 1969.
