Content DescriptionFirst Party: Henry P.A.D. [Pelham-Clinton] 7th Duke of Newcastle [under Lyne].

Second Party: Charles Albert Marris, solicitor, of Worksop.

Agreement between (1) and (2), whereby (1) agrees to lease to (2) 5440 square yards of land in Worksop on the western side of the road from Worksop to Ollerton, including buildings agreed to be erected upon the land; to be held for a term of 99 years from 25 Mar. 1924.

States that (2) must erect a messuage and outbuildings within 12 months at a cost of at least £3500, to the satisfaction of (1)'s surveyor; also (2) must erect certain boundary fencing.

Includes a list of other conditions.

Rent: £12 and 10 shillings for the first year, and £25 per annum payable half yearly for each subsequent year.

Schedule 2: Draft version of lease to be executed.

Includes plan on tracing paper with the property in question edged in pink; buildings to be erected upon the property are shown in blue; also shows Sparken Hill.

Note that the lease itself [dated 24 Sep. 1925] is endorsed on wrapper, but appears to be missing.
