Agreement between (1), (2) and (3), whereby (1) and (2) permit (3) to mine the Top Hard seam of coal lying beneath St Cuthberts College [edged pink on attached plan]; being supplemental to a mining lease with (3) dated 30 Oct. 1896, and also supplemental to indentures recited below.

Royalties: £41 and 5 shillings for coal mined from beneath property coloured blue on plan; £12 and 10 shillings per foot per statute acre for Top Hard seam coal lying beneath property edged pink on plan.

Contains various other terms and conditions.

Recitals: (a) fact that this agreement is supplemental to a conveyance dated 14 Feb. 1889 [see Ne 6 D 2/48/120], an indenture dated 30 Oct. 1896 [see Ne 6 D 2/48/145], a mining lease dated 30 Oct. 1896 [see Ne 6 D 2/48/142], and also an agreement dated 30 Oct. 1896 [see Ne 6 D 2/48/146]; (b) fact that (3) are desirous of mining the Top Hard seam of coal lying beneath part of the property previously conveyed to (2) by aforementioned indenture dated 14 Feb. 1889.
