Content DescriptionRefers to the Act of Parliament made 42 George III [1801-1802], concerning the appointment of Lieutenants with full power and authority; recites the letters patent of George III, dated 8 December 1809, appointing the duke, by virtue of that act, as Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire [see Ne 5 Da 6]; renews the appointment, under the writ of the Privy Seal.

A wax pendant great seal is attached.

The appointment is witnessed at Westminster by the King himself, dated 29 December 1 William IV; the year has been derived using Cheney's 'Handbook of Dates'.
