Dedication 'To Cynthia Asquith' written in the hand of D.H. Lawrence; initial copies of 'Bay' (London: C.W. Beaumont, 1919) were printed without the dedication leaf which was tipped in later.
Date: the dedication would have been written between D.H. Lawrence beginning to assemble the volume in April 1918 and its publication in November 1919.
