Content DescriptionReplies to his letter at length, explaining the difficulties experienced by Mr Tal in his attempts to acquire the German rights to 'Lady Chatterley's Lover', which has involved him with a Prince Loewenstein-Wertheim of London and with Curtis Brown; gives his opinion of their attitude and the negotiations over royalties; asks him to give instructions to Curtis Brown to accept Tal's offer; in conclusion offers to submit his translation of 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' for his approval and also to translate 'The Plumed Serpent'; asks if he could ascertain if K [Kippenberg] of Insel-Verlag definitely does not intend to publish 'Aarons Rod', 'The White Peacock' and the 'Lost Girl'; if this is so, wants him to instruct Curtis Brown to arrange for Mr Tal to be offered them immediately; carbon copy unsigned.
