Content Description	Shows D.H. Lawrence and Ada Clarke, full length, standing on the beach at Mablethorpe, Lincs., August 1926; D.H. Lawrence is carrying a small parasol and his sister Ada is barefoot. A copy of this photograph was exhibited in the University of Nottingham 1960 exhibition 'D.H. Lawrence after 30 years' (see exhibition catalogue, no. 203). An enlargement of the photograph showing D.H. Lawrence only, head and shoulders, is held with the surrogate copy.
