Content Description
A postcard from Lawrence sent to his sister Ada Clarke from Tahiti. On the verso of a colourised photograph of a male Tahitian wearing red loincloth and carrying a green palm leaf, Lawrence writes 'Sail on tomorrow afternoon - hot - lovely island - but town spoilt - don't really want to stay. But having a very good trip. Love DHL'. A postscript in an unknown hand reads 'Saluti tanti al Postino Salvatore' ('Many greetings to Postman Salvatore').

Verso, black manuscript ink. There is discolouration where a postage stamp used previously to be affixed. There is a postmark, 'Papeete 23-8 22'.
