Content DescriptionAddresses her as 'My dear Lou'; mentions an 'old' coat which had belonged to his aunt [Lettice Ada Berry] and has been sent to his sister Emily [Emily Una King]; encloses a 'damnatory' review from 'The Times' of his novel 'The White Peacock', which has made him 'very low'; also sends a cutting from 'The Observer' which 'Mac' [Arthur William McLeod] had found for him; tells her that a friend asked him for a loan and as he has no money himself he is considering not paying his dental bill and borrowing the remainder; advises her not to bother with aunt Ada [Ada Rose Krenkow] who is vexed with him and thinks he and Ada [Lawrence] 'ill in grace'.

Mentions the snowdrops she had sent; wonders why she was annoyed that 'J.' [Jessie Chambers] had written and he asks her not to be jealous; refers to a request from America to grant an order to the 'Press Cuttings Company' to allow them to send the 'American notices of the book'; has also heard from Grace Crawford; reports slow progress on his translations; dismisses Times review as 'anti-progressive'; signed 'D.H.L.'
