Reports that he has finally received payment for 'Goose Fair' and encloses her share; mentions that Austin Harrison is to include some of his poetry which he would prefer to remain unpublished in the next month's issue [of the 'English Review']; refers to their respective situations and wishes for a change but he cannot think of moving till the autumn; remarks that his novel is nearly ready for publication and that another of his stories is to appear in the May issue of the ['English Review']; comments on the beauty of spring and regrets his lack of time to write her prose poems; reports that he has been invited to visit the Rhyses [Grace and Ernest Rhys] to meet some celebrities and to read some of his poetry; comments that he is not 'very keen' as he does not see himself as a 'Society man'; enquires about her plans for the future; sends regards to Tom Smith [Thomas Alfred Smith]; signed 'D.H.L.'

Physical Description
Written on two different sheets of white lined paper, both taken from exercise books. The text, beginning in red ink and changing to a dark ink at the foot of f 1v, follows the sequence: ff 1r, 1v, 2r, 2v. The first sheet has dimensions 202 x 83 mm, and has one horizontal and one vertical fold, the recto having a jagged left edge; the second sheet has dimensions 204 x 164 mm, watermarked Boots, Cash Stationers, and has one horizontal and two vertical folds.
