Content DescriptionReports that he has cycled to Shirebrook to see Mr and Mrs Dax [Henry Richard Dax and Alice Mary Dax]; hopes that she does not 'get damaged in the riots'; hopes to be able to visit Quorn; signed 'D.H. Lawrence'.

Addressed to Miss Louie Burrows at 5, Kingston Street, Derby; bears a green half-penny stamp, postmarked in Shirebrook, Mansfield at 9.00 am, 20 Aug 1911, which would suggest that Lawrence wrote this card on 19 Aug 1911. The verso of the card shows a black and white photograph of the Old School House and Rock Cottages, Shirebrook.
