Content Description
Addresses her as 'My dear Lou'; discusses the arrangements for their holiday, telling her who is able to go with them: the Halls and Frances and Gertie [Frances Cooper and Gertrude Cooper]. Neville [George Henry Neville] cannot make it; refers to his brother Georgie [George Arthur Lawrence] as a 'fool'; discusses his plans for visiting her and for going to Eastwood; warns her that Kit Holderness [Edith Holderness] will be joining them on their holiday and that he plans to be in Lincoln for part of the fourth week.
Reports receiving a larger payment than he had anticipated from the English ['English Review'] and details how he intends to spend the money; wants to take Mrs Burrows [Louisa Ann Burrows] a present and asks for advice; as the following day is the school sports day he plans to have a break and visit Max and Ethel [Ethel Hunger and Max Hunger] in St Margarets; wonders how she has 'gone on' in Quorn; hopes that the sea air in Wales will do her some good; final salutation in French; signed 'D.H. Lawrence'.
