Addresses her as 'My dear Lou'; encloses her scarf that she had forgotten to take home; feels as though their day together 'yesterday' had 'belonged to another existence' though he did feel 'queer' which explained his mood; has taken her advice and stayed in bed all day; intends their future to be a happy one and tells her not to be anxious; signed 'D.H. Lawrence'; adds a postscript 'Sympathetic to Miss Cox' [Sarah Elizabeth Cox].
