Content DescriptionAddresses her as 'My dear Ada'; is sorry to report that Joe King [brother in law to Lawrence's sister Emily] has died in Chile; is sending 2 bob for father's birthday [18 Jun.], and asks her to remind him about Margaret's birthday [daughter of Emily King].

Mentions that Violet Hunt has asked him to go to the author's club, and she is going to hail him in the Chronicle as a great man; has also received a letter from Hueffer; discusses a review of his novel 'The White Peacock' in the Morning Post, and also mentions that the Guardian is 'stirred up' on his behalf; requests social news, and asks her to visit; signed 'Your loving brother D.H. Lawrence'.

In a postscript he requests information about when she will be moving house [9 Mar. 1911]; is adamant that he won't come home to Lynn Croft, and doesn't want to return to Eastwood at all.

Includes a black edged envelope (La Av 1/1/63/2) addressed to Miss L.A. Lawrence, Lynn Croft, Eastwood, Notts; bears a red one penny stamp postmarked in Croydon at 6 pm 9 Feb. 1911; the verso also bears a postmark in Eastwood Nottingham dated 10 Feb. 1911.
