Content Description | Has returned home from travels abroad. Had a day hunting in Rome, and the fox ran to ground in the precincts of the villa of Lucullus. Gives an itinerary of his travels, including Malta, Naples, Rome, Florence, Venice and Paris. They stayed longest at Rome, where they saw antiquities, played whist at the club. Also went to the Carnival, which was unfortuantely spoiled by the rebels who are trying to get the Pope out. Discusses Garibaldi, who has accepted the office of Honorary President of the Reform League. Goes on to discuss a gathering of the "People's Forum" in Hyde Park.
