Date: The letter is dated 22 Jan. 1922. However internal evidence suggests that it was probably written in 1921.

Note that Alice Cook [née Dorman] was the widow of Captain George Trevor-Roper Cook (1878 - 1918). The couple at one time lived at Barnby Moor Lodge, Retford, Nottinghamshire.
