Commiserates about the poor summer for partridge shooting, and hopes the pheasants will fare better. Brief social news including the travel arrangments of the Whitakers. States that Mary Thynne [daughter of 5th Marquess of Bath] is to marry [Charles Wilson, 3rd Baron] Nunburnholme, and disapproval of the engagement of Lord Weymouth [Henry Thynne, later 6th Marquess of Bath].
