Content Description	Photograph of a painting; a note on the verso identifies the subject of the painting and suggests that the original is somewhere in Italy [n.b. the original is now at The University of Texas]. Date: David Ellis 'D.H. Lawrence A Dying Game, 1922-1930' (Cambridge University Press, 1998) refers to a meeting between Lawrence, Turner, Douglas and Orioli on 17 November 1927; it is assumed that it was this occasion which inspired the painting.
