Content DescriptionShe has not written much about D.H. Lawrence; he [Lawrence] wrote to both her and [Ford Madox] Hueffer but the letters were not kept; she sold one or two to Davis to [Pino] Orioli; she has several letters from his sweetheart [Jessie Chambers] who wrote a book about him ['D.H. Lawrence: A Personal Record']; adds that Ford Madox Hueffer wrote an article about Lawrence but she cannot remember in which periodical it appeared [possibly 'American Mercury' XXXVIII, Jun. 1936, pp 167-79).

Date: the letter is undated, references to Hueffer's Lawrence article and to Jessie Chambers book on Lawrence date this letter to 1936 or after and before Violet Hunt's death in 1942.
