Content DescriptionInforms him that he had received his despatch and letters which had been delayed by the quarantine regulations and that the Sultan had agreed to pay the $2,000 upon Don Juan Blanco's request; reports that the Spanish prisoners in the Reef would be handed over at Tangier in exchange for the stolen cannon; comments on the character of Blanco, who he believed to be a cousin of O'Donnell; informs him that reports of the massacre of the French and Spanish consuls in Tetuan were false; had been unable to send his horse due to a problem with the steamer.
