Content DescriptionInforms him that the had been riding with the Empress, the Emperor being absent on a shooting expedition; reports the arrival of the Emperor Wilhelm at Gastein and informs him they had discussed the Emperor's meeting with Napoleon after [the battle of] Sedan; discusses the despatch of troops from Cracow to Bohemia; comments on the relationship between Austria and Germany and states he had discussed politics with Esterhazy, who had been in Gastein; discusses the benefits of different 'waters' for various illnesses and states the Emperor Wilhelm, who was suffering from water on the heart had benefited from his regular visits to Gastein; reports Manteuffel believed the French army to be entirely Bonapartist.
