Content Description	Apologises for not mentioning His Lordship's suggestion regarding custom houses to Bismarck; his interview with Bismarck was short; he received an explanation of French influence over the King in the Austrian question; inconsistencies could possibly allow the King to be swayed against the policy of Count Bernsdorff and M. de Schleiuity; a peaceful understanding with Austria could be reached; Baron Mauteuffel has consented to take office once the King accepts Bismarck's resignation; he called on M de Thile who congratulated him on the accuracy of his despatch regarding the Convention; the only doubt was over Bismarck's observations of Count Bernstorff; denial of Gorchakov's assertion that the Convention came from Berlin; France was spoken of with bitterness. The King [of Prussia] is glad of good relations with England; comments on possibility of Russian evacuation of Poland and the possible transference of Poland to Prussia; discusses the make up of the Polish population; Bismarck had requested his opinions be viewed as confidential
