He has been informed by Commander Michelson that the King wishes to present him with a snuff box and a china vase; this is in recognition of his work on the abolition of the sound dues; he requests an opinion as to whether he should accept the gift; he is aware that it is contrary to regulations; Michelson states that Sir H. Wynn and Lord Westmorland had accepted similar gifts from the King.
