Content DescriptionDiscusses the 'detention' of the British Schooner 'Amalia' at Valencia; refers to a letter received from the Minister of Finance stating that the vessel was to be returned to her owners; refers to a letter received from Mr Barrie which reveals that although a Royal Order has been issued which would allow the return of the vessel to her owners, the vessel and cargo were still in the hands of the Spanish authorities who appeared to be delaying the matter; reveals that Mr Barrie believes the vessel was carrying contraband cargo to Spain.
