Content Description	Concerns the debt contracted by Spain during the Civil War of 1835; explains that before 'devising means for the payment of the debt', the Spanish Government must first check the accounts in the Department of War and Finance; explains that when these accounts have been examined and audited, payment will be arranged with the minimum of delay; reveals the British Government are surprised by Spain's request to investigate such a long standing debt but hopes the Spanish Government intends to settle the claim immediately.
