Content Description	Reports that Calderón Collantes has replied to the note he received from General Almonte concerning the treaty between Spain and Mexico; reveals Calderón Collantes has stated that if 'the negotiation is not at once closed upon the basis agreed upon', the Spanish Government will terminate the negotiations altogether; reveals that General Almonte appears to be 'acting contrary to the interests and instructions of his Government' however it is hoped he can be prevented from 'persisting in a course which would inevitably lead to renewed embarrassments'.
