Content DescriptionRefers to the indemnity demanded by Spain for the victims of the San Vincente and Cuernavaca massacres; explains Calderón Collantes has been asked to make concessions regarding the indemnity in order to bring the disagreement between the two countries to a swift and amicable conclusion; reveals that although Calderón Collantes will not make any concessions, he will produce a memorandum 'sufficiently vague with regard to the indemnity, to enable both parties to interpret it in their own way'; reveals this will be the 'last word' of the Spanish Government on the matter and that further attempts to negotiate the indemnity will be unsuccessful.
