Content Description
Concerns two letters sent by General Almonte to Calderón Collantes; reports discussions with Calderón Collantes regarding their content; reports the minister who signed the convention of 1853 has 'suspended its execution' without the agreement of the Spanish Government; comments that Mexico has lost all respect for Spain; reveals Mexico has maintained her treaty engagements with England and France, but has not maintained the agreement with Spain; explains Spain will not enter into further discussions with Mexico until the 'validity of the convention' is acknowledged.
