Content Description
Discusses a speech made by Calderón Collantes in which he made references to comments made by the President of the United States concerning the Cuban claims; reports Mr Collantes was under the misapprehension that the British claimants would be 'satisfied with less than the full amount of the duties which they conceived themselves to have been improperly called upon to pay by the authorities in Cuba'; reports Mr Collantes spoke 'with some bitterness' of the United States who had made a question of such an insignificant subject.
